G209 Huangcun-Wulichuan Road Rehabilitation Project, Sanmenxia

On G209 National Highway's Huangcun–Wulichuan rehabilitation in Lushi County, Sanmenxia, Beizhu's equipment completed the region's first foam asphalt cold recycling application with synchronised recycling–paving operations across 39.686 km.

Project Background

The G209 National Highway Huangcun–Wulichuan rehabilitation in Lushi County, Sanmenxia (K1480+318 to K1499+000 and K1503+000 to K1523+000) covers a total of 39.686 km. The section had extensive longitudinal cracking, rutting, and reflective cracking. This was the first application of continuous foam asphalt cold recycling technology in the Sanmenxia region.

Challenge

The corridor passes through hilly terrain with tight construction zones. The project required rapid construction to minimise disruption to this nationally important route, while achieving structural rehabilitation depths that matched the original design load class.

Solution

Beizhu's continuous foam asphalt cold recycling equipment was deployed with synchronised recycling and paving operations: the plant processed milled RAP in real time, and the finished mix was immediately laid and compacted in a continuous single-pass sequence. This eliminated the intermediate stockpiling and haul normally required by batch recycling methods.

Results

All 39.686 km of the rehabilitation was completed in a single continuous campaign. The synchronised recycling–paving workflow achieved significantly faster progress than batch recycling or conventional reconstruction. Post-completion inspection confirmed structural performance meeting design specifications throughout, establishing foam asphalt cold recycling as the preferred method for future works in the region.
